Scarab Industries was started in Cape Town in 2002 by Bruce Newton and his brother Richard.
For many years now we have been offering great Video Assist services to film makers from all over the the globe. Recently we have adapted to the Digital Revolution and qualified as DIT's as well.We now run the entire video department on set.
All of us at Scarab Industries love films and film making. We are a passionate bunch of people and that includes a passion for quality DIT and Video Assist Services.
Scarab is a family business made up of three siblings, Katherine, who runs the office and Richard and Bruce who are DIT's and VT Operators. Recently Adam Forde, who we have known for years, has joined our team as a VT operator.
In 2000 Bruce bought his first Sony 9" Monitor and in 2002 he opened Scarab Industries.
It was originally started as a stepping stone to becoming a film maker, but has since developed into a successful service business with a full understanding of what a film maker needs from DIT and Video Assist.

We take pride in our work and we customise, clean and fix our gear ourselves, therefore, when on set we are accountable for its performance.
Over the years we have worked with well known Oscar Winners and international film makers like Robert Richardson, Peter Suschitzky, Remi Adefarasin, John Mathieson, Gabriele Salvatores, Jan Sverák and well known actors like Robert Pattinson, Louis Gossett Jr. and Tim Curry.
Locally we have done work with respected Directors like Keith Rose, Kim Geldenhuys, Giaco Angellini, Greg Gray and many more.
We are sensitive to the needs of the advertising agency, we know how to keep them happy and have learned to help with the difficulties in communication between them and the working crew.
Katherine is in the office full time to answer any questions and to give you easy to read quotes and invoices. We understand the need for quotes and invoices to be done the same day or even the same half hour as requested and we always get them to you timeously.
