A love for art, photography, writing and music led Bruce to the world of film making. But that was just the dream. His first job in 1998 was as a driver for a film catering company.

He cracked it as a runner some time later and did that for almost 4 years. He did cameos as a spark, a grip, an art department assistant, as a loader and a VT Operater assistant.In 2001 he decided to specialise in Video Assist and in 2002 opened Scarab Industries. Bruce says - "Even though I have been operating for many years now, I work with such inspiring creatives and directors that I still enjoy my job thoroughly. It is great to work on a project of high quality and have the opportunity to offer the best DIT and Video Assist solutions to some of the top film makers on the planet". After doing VT for 9 years Bruce has recently been working as a DIT as well. Bruce continues "I love DIT jobs, there are so many changes and so much growth in that part of the industry at the moment it is exciting to be involved in."

Adam Forde

Adam entered the film industry in 2001, initially in the art department. He moved to the UK in 2004, where he worked in the entertainment industry, developing his skills in stage construction, rigging and lighting. Returning to South Africa in 2006, he worked on a series of photoshoots as product engineer and warehouse manager, later becoming photographer’s assistant.

In 2007, Adam signed with a crewing agent as a production assistant and code10 driver. Keen to develop his skills in the art of film making, he trained in video assist and joined Scarab Industries in 2008.
